All About Polar Bears

The Kyoto Protocol Video Video

Polar bears are increasingly emerging as threatened due to a myriad of factors consisting of industry activities, ice in their natural environment melting, as well as human interaction. By far the greatest root cause is actually the modification in the natural world of the polar bear. Several life-threatening situations are created for these cold climate bears when the ice melts. World-wide warming that is tied to industrialization and tasks such as driving a car, burning coal, as well as additional human ventures induces the ice melting.

The Bear Essential
Polar bears are a sizable animals that make their homes on the frozen Arctic marine. The bears are going to spend the majority of their lives on the ice. Males may grow up to ten feet in period as well as weigh in at over 600 kilograms! The bears are actually carnivores, indicating they consist primarily on a diet made up of the meat of more Arctic animals. At present there are actually predicted to be merely 20 to 50 thousands Arctic polar bears left in the wild. They are on the Endangered Animal List.

Why They’re At Hazard
The ultimate danger to the survival of the polar bear varieties is the noted warming of the Arctic ocean which is actually leading to the melting of the ice these bears call home. Although the bears utilize the ice for breeding and relaxing as well, it’s principal element is to give a cover for the bears as they hunt seals. Without adequate ice, the bears can easily not expand far sufficient from land to hunt enough food to survive. The bears are turning into malnourished as well as countless are dying of hunger. This dynamic is actually effecting female bears with cubs in a great number inducing lesser survival rates of the newer generations. Additional dangers to polar bears feature enhanced race ins by having humans due to the forced time spent on land, and spills, improvement and shipping operations relating to oil in the Arctic.

Interference in the form of authorities controls to lessen human impact has actually been highlighted as a top priority in America as well as other countries. In addition, private providers as well as interest collections proceed to lobby as well as work by having the authorities to guard this valued pet in its natural environment. Apart from authorities interference, further research concerning world-wide warming is vital so that the temperature adjustment are able to be stopped or reversed. There are actually agencies that are raising cash for this very purpose. An additional means communities are actually assisting the polar bear is actually to use qualified bear patrol agents to keep the land bound polar bears from folks as well as to make certain that the bears are not competing as well strongly with the folks for the food resources on land.

Knowledge is power. Emerge as extra informed regarding this important theme by seeing Polar Bears at World Wild Life.

What Species of animal do you think will be the next to be extinct?Or close to extinction? I think the Polar bear will be the next due to Global warming and the Ice melting…

  2. nomad says:

Thousands of species become extinct every year.

  3. systemF says:

In America, white people seem to be on a significant population decline. I believe they now make up only about 66% of the population in the U.S.

  4. alias89 says:

Polar bears maybe but I am betting on humans as the next species to go don’t ya think we are the only one killing ourselves not for survival but for greed.

  5. birdgirl says:

Mountain Gorilla, African Elephant, Siberian Tiger, several bird species in Hawaii.

  6. Stephanie W says:

suprisingly, about a species goes extinct about every 6 hours because of all the habitat loss

  7. ghost says:

I have heard that within 4 years the northern ice will almost entirely be melted during the summer months. Many conservatives say that profits matter, and not polar bears. But bears matter to me.

  8. . says:

They actually eat more when they go into the villages, I read something the other day that said most who have grown up near people are loosing their ability to hunt.

  9. gym says:

er, well they stated clearly from the article why they said that , ” the panel found that Canada’s polar bear population was not declining enough to place it in the most serious category as an endangered species. Instead, it has been classified as a species of special concern.” just because you lose your home you dont die, look at the homeless…..

  10. retort to your retort to gym the polar bears are not effected by space, it is the ability to feed that is being allegedly being removed and no the northern ice will not all be melted in a few years guy who said that above i believe it is a concern and that they may be being affected, but i also think it is being overhyped. it seems like it is the only actual negative impact so far to global warming, and its not even that solid of an argument. while i can clearly see temperatures are rising there have yet to be imo significant global impacts, and until we see one its going to be business as usual

  11. John N says:

Polar Bear Extinction Question? What would happen if most of the polar bears died out. Im writing a paper on them possibly going extinct. So besides from the ecosystem going out of wack what else would happen

  12. quizzard123 says:

Other than the obvious loss of a species, the ecosystem is the biggest problem. No bears, more seals. More seals, less fish. and on and on it goes. It would take a long time to sort itself out (which it would)

  13. Jim says:

Most likely not much. Most biologist and ecologist pretty much agree, that the loss of one species wont effect much of anything else. Polar bear are not going extinct. They have not been put on any list. They are a species of concern due to the polar ice caps melting. Here is something most people don’t know. During the previous warm period, that would be the one that ended near the beginning of the last Ice Age, temperatures got warmer than they are now. Polar bear survived the last polar ice melt cause by that warming. There is no reason to believe they wont survive this one. There is something that is of concern. The shipping companies are discussing opening a sea lane through the Arctic Ocean. That could be a possible nightmare. Not only for polar bear, but for the whole Arctic system. Edit: I see someone just likes to go around giving people negative votes. If someone has an issue with my answer, then contact me, we will discuss it. Or perhaps the facts and truth are not acceptable. Perhaps that person prefers to live in ignorance.

  14. Birdman says:

The polar bear population has increased by 1/3 in the past 10 years. Don’t believe all that Al Gore Global Warming Crap!!! They are not going extinct anytime soon.

  15. mark m says:

actually, polar bears are a subspecies of grizzly bears. So they might loose that white coat and become griz, again (the ones that found their way back to land, anyhow). Uh after about half or more die… The idea of extinction is more about genetic erosion (fewer DNA gene pools mean more catastrophic population collapse than with myriad species)… So if something happens to the panda bear pop. then some other species can fill in that niche. Otherwise, bamboo might take over the world. See the permian extinction… there was fewer species and whatever caused the collapse killed off 80 to 90% of all ocean species and 70% of all land species. That’s a lot and it took five million years for the earth to recover–that’s a long time.

  16. Anonymous says:

How can I collect money to help prevent Polar Bear extinction? I need ideas that will work to get money for Polar Bears.

  17. Maxx says:

Abby, I know you have probably been propagandized by your school, but the fact is that the polar bears are doing great. Polar Bears are doing fine: http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/190805/20110802/polar-bear-global-warming-extinction-climate-change-research-world-wide-fund-wwf-geological-survey-s.htm Warmists are using polar bears to try and increase sympathy for their man-made Global Warming scam — but its just a hoax to make money and gain power. 18. TruthSeeker says:

First the animals die because of human overpopulation, then people. Who wants to live in a world where all the animals have died? Even the fish and polar bears in a huge country like Canada are dying, and all over the world animals are dying as farmers and builders dig up the natural habitat of animals. When will religious people stop defending the extinction of animals just to produce more babies and increase membership in their racial or religious sub-groups?

  19. chocolahoma says:

You can help. Don’t have ANY children of your own. That would make me feel much better.

  20. Joseph, II says:

You make a SHARP point…-One I’ve been mulling over for much of my life… It’s like we’re “eating up the World”- & squeezing out all the OTHER creatures on it. But HERE’S THE “Question”; HOW are we going to tell people they can’t have more than 1 or 2 Kids??! China’s been trying to do that for YEARS now- & nobody likes it IN or OUT of China… How many people would be willing to trade THEIR Child’s “space”- with a Polar Bear Cub’s??! Thanks to Global Warming- THAT’s what we all may have start asking ourselves in the next 100 years… :(

  21. xairel says:

    That’s life, I guess.

  22. ItsMe says:

…it would be a sad place without animals and the world wouldn’t last long, we need them

  23. yme says:

The world is very big. Could take a long long time to overpop the planet and kill all the animals. Most likely an asteroid will kill us all first. I have two kids and go to church on Sunday. Am I radical or in a religious sub-group? You just feel guilty. I ate some endangered Alabama chicken tonight and loved it.

  24. neonsunshine says:

i know! i hate when people use religion like it’s the only thing that matters!

  25. mountaingym says:

Just look at how long global warming has been going on: the last Ice Age ended 11,000 years ago. In that time frame humankind has increased from several million (just a guess, I don’t know the real number of humans 11,000 years ago) to over 6 billion. I don’t see how climate change has hurt us yet.

  26. It won’t be climate change making you extinct.

  27. Dwain says:

We will adjust and recover. Hopefully enough of our records will survive to remind us as a species not to engage in fanciful flights of technological utopianism.
